About the Business Development Unit

Business development is the creation of long-term value for an organization from technology, customers, markets, and relationships.  The business development department is the team of AccessBank Tanzania dedicated to the development of new products, services and projects. It is a dynamic team composed of highly qualified professionals with a strong passion for innovation and technology to be applied for serving the unbanked sectors of the Tanzanian population.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Understand the bank’s business needs and take transformative actions.
  • Design, manage and implement projects within the organization.
  • Supervise a project team.
  • Be responsible for timelines and delivery of outputs.
  • Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Prototyping and testing of new ideas and solutions.
  • Conduction of human centric design processes.
  • Conduct external market research where necessary.

 

Selection Criteria:

 

Education:                          Must possess at least a Bachelor or equivalent (16 years of formal education) degree in ICT, engineering or business administration/management/commerce.

 

Experience:                        A genuine passion for technology, innovation, databases and mobile applications.

 

 

Other required qualifications:

 

  • Proven working experience as a project administrator in the information technology sector.
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
