Business development is the creation of long-term value for an organization from technology, customers, markets, and relationships.  The business development department is the team of AccessBank Tanzania dedicated to the development of new products, services and projects. It is a dynamic team composed of highly qualified professionals with a strong passion for innovation and technology to be applied for serving the unbanked sectors of the Tanzanian population.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  •  
  1. Ensure that mobile banking transactions targets both in terms of number and volume are met on a monthly basis.
  2. Ensure Customer Acquisition Application operationalization and as well as monitoring of activity of marketers.
  3. Ensure that client’s complaints and transaction failures are settled on time
  4. Ensure that relationship between front office and Branchless Banking Back Office Staff is good.
  5. Ensure that risks are managed or mitigated in the daily operations
  6. Ensuring that all staff in the branch complies with the mobile banking procedures of the bank.
  7. Ensure timely submission of internal and external reports required by the Heads of Departments or the Management Team
  8. Setting of bonus to each branch on monthly basis
  9. Training of Staff and non-Staff all issues concerning Mobile Banking to all branches. Conducting of refresh training to existing Staff, trainees and clients.
  10. Ensure the mobile banking registration is met.
  11. Liaise and support the IT department to manage platform performance, upgrades and other modifications.
  12. Organise mobile banking weekly performance meetings and ensure timely participation of all stakeholders involved.
  13. Liaise and supervise with senior banking services officers, customer marketer officers, branch managers and regional managers for the achievement of mobile banking, RAHISI, and Customer Acquisition Application targets.

  1. Deliver new procedures for improved product performance
  2. Ensure that SLAs with technical partner (Selcom) are met and monitor them on a weekly basis.
  3. Ensure all relevant manager and coordinators in the product manager structure analyze commercial trends, understand actions to be taken and own the business they manage.
  4. Have full visibility and understanding of revenues and subscribers on daily basis and the business as a whole as well as the costs the services generate.

Product Development

  1. Deliver regionally and locally agreed developments on the mobile banking platform with agreed timeframes in liaison with the IT department and the technical partner of the bank.
  2. Liaise with consumer understand and call centre identifying new market driven platform requirements and recommend implementation of the same.
  3. Provide findings and recommendations to enable continuous improvement and innovation

 

Selection Criteria:

 

Education:                          Must possess at least a Bachelor or equivalent (16 years of formal education) degree in accounting/finance, ICT, engineering or business administration/management/commerce.  

 

Experience:                        At least 3 years of experience in banking, fintech or telecommunication. A genuine passion for technology, innovation, databases and mobile applications.

 

Other required qualifications:

  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Officea and particularly in Excel.
