AccessMobile customers can now enjoy the benefits of Selcom Pay services

In a continued strive for better customer service AccessBank Tanzania has progressively improved its services. One of its flagship product “AccessMobile”, is a mobile phone banking platform that links a customer’s bank account to his/her cell phone. One of our newest services being offered on the AccessMobile banking platform is the use of AccessMobile to top-up the Selcom Card as well as pay for goods services using SelcomPay.


Stating on the improvement of the services which are provided free to the customers, the Chief Business Development Officer Mr. Andrea Ottina said, '' We have upgraded our services which will enable AccessMobile users to make various payments. Our customers can now pay their taxes via AccessMobile or transfer their money from their AccessBank accounts via AccessMobile to their SelcomCard to make various payments for products and services (e.g. purchases at supermarkets, shops, restaurants or if it’s just to go watch a football game at the National Stadium.)


Mr. Ottina also added that through AccessMobile our customers can make payments at any place that accepts or is a SelcomPay point. In addition to these services, our AccessMobile customers can also pay for other utilities like Precision Air plane tickets, StarTimes Subscription, NHC rent, TANESCO Postpaid bills, PPF and PSPF contributions and many more. All these great services at the fingertips of your mobile phone.


Speaking from Selcom the Director of Strategy - Mr. Benjamin Mpamo said, "Selcom’s main vision is to simplify Tanzanians way of living through technology and ensure financial services are available in the simplest and quickest way for all Tanzanians. To ensure that we achieve this vision, Selcom Tanzania in collaboration with AccessBank brings you Selcom Pay services through AccessMobile. AccessMobile customers can now make payments at all Selcom Pay merchants such as; Pizza Hut, GSM Malls, Discount Centre, KFC, Village Supermarket, Shrijee Supermarket, Shoppers Supermarket, Danube Home, Rhapsody's, Didi's Pub, Imalaseko and many other merchant locations.” In additional to this, AccessMobile users will be able to pay for National Stadium tickets directly from their bank account through Selcom Pay. This is just the beginning and soon Selcom Tanzania will be adding many more services which are aimed to solve financial challenges facing Tanzanians who are in and outside of the country."


It’s been nearly three years since the introduction of AccessMobile which has also seen a substantial growth in customer usage, and more customers have opened accounts in order to join and enjoy free mobile banking services that are cost free. Commenting on this AccessBank’s Senior Marketing Officer Sijaona Simon said, “AccessMobile continues to be a great savior for our customers particularly in terms of eliminating transaction charges, for all our customers enrolled with this service, they can perform many and various transactions without being charged. Our customers can pay their daily bills, buy airtime, transfer money to other accounts within the bank or mobile networks (TigoPesa, Mpesa, AirtelMoney, Halotel and Eazypesa) totally free. Now we have added SelcomPay service for our customers which will also be a cost FREE transaction.”


Mr. Sijaona Simon also urged other AccessBank customers who have not registered for this service (AccessMobile) to join and enjoy free mobile banking services. This service has been and is being utilized by businesses, entrepreneurs, individuals and employees across Tanzania.
