A TREMENDOUS PERFORMANCE FOR ACCESSBANK AGENTS

AccessBank Tanzania has recorded an impressive result during the month of August and September 2017 through its agent banking channel, by transacting almost TZS 60 billion since the beginning of the year.  The success was a result of all our AccessBank agents who provide services across Tanzania.

In the first quarter of 2015, AccessBank Tanzania initiated its first branchless banking channel which enabled the delivery of a range of crucial banking services to its customers using appointed agents countrywide dubbed as “AccessBank WAKALA”. The bank now has recruited more than 200 agents across Tanzania, who are equipped with electronic terminals that enable them to render specific services that are similar to an AccessBank branch, remotely.

Commenting on this, AccessBank’s head of Alternative Channels Mr. Enock Kipwate said, “The August and September performance shows that agency banking is growing and is a preferred alternate means of banking that is convenient for our customers. Our agents operate beyond normal banking hours (convenience) and are also located close to our customers (inclusion.)” The impressive result comes right after AccessBank’s decisions to migrate from banking in branch to an alternative means of branchless banking. We invested so much time and money into this project and the beginning was challenging but thanks to our staffs teamwork, availability and support that they gave our agents, it contributed immensely to the performance”.

It has been clearly that since its introduction the channel becoming very helpful to majority of AccessBank clients by saving time and money. Now customers are enjoying AccessBank services nearby their home places without affecting their daily routines. In other hand the channel becomes an opportunity for the businessmen to make money from the commission paid for being AccessBank Agents.

Speaking on the sideline of this Mr. Sijaona Simon Malosha who is the Senior Marketing Officer for the bank urged all AccessBank Tanzania customers to make good use of our AccessBank Wakalas’ located all across Tanzania. “Whenever our customers are in need of cash or are simply making a deposit, they will save time and money. To make good use of this service our customers can visit their nearest AccessBank branch to get connected to AccessMobile a free mobile banking services that will allow them to do their banking 24 hours a day 7 days a week”.
