AccessBank Tanzania has conducted another seminar focusing on its famous agents dubbed AccessBank WAKALA who provide services on behalf of the bank. The seminar that was attended by more than 100 agents was held at Kebbys hotel located in Dar es Salaam on the weekend.


Speaking on this, the head of banking alternatives channels Mr. Enock Kipwate said. '' This becomes now as our tradition, we have been preparing this special seminar for our agents to discuss various issues of interest in developing this project. Agents as our partner in this business we meets them every three months to evaluate the project trends. We have to thanks them for having been responding to this call and emerging in great numbers. We have talked to them many things, including giving them a techniques or ways to do their business and to deal with challenges that arise in their business. It also gives them a range of information based on the recommendations made by the central bank. Our main goal is to make them the best ambassadors of AccessBank bank even the area where we don’t have branches'' Also Mr. Kipwate added, the same seminar was also conducted to our agents in lake zone branches and later to our Mbeya and Iringa Branches.


In order to ensure that Tanzanian percentage is reached by banking services, the government through the Central Bank of Tanzania issued orders to all banks to ensure that they introducing Agent banking system. In 2015 AccessBank was among the first banks to introduce this project in which there are currently over 200 agents offering service on behalf of AccessBank in different parts of Tanzania


Mrs. Rehema Mkumbo one of the seminar attendees and an AccessBank Agent at Bunju A commented, '' We are very grateful for AccessBank, since through this seminar we have learned a lot about our business. The same also helps us to meet each other as stakeholders and also share business experience. AccessBank has given us the opportunity to discuss the various challenges we face in our businesses and also help us with answers on how to solve those challenges.
